I believe words can change the world. I read a quote two years ago from Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card (which I highly recommend) that went like this:

“There are times when the world is rearranging itself, and at times like that, the right words can change the world.”

I graduated college last spring with a degree in Secondary English Education. I student taught in a local town and even lived in Africa for three months to teach ESL, but no matter what I did, it simply wasn’t the right fit. Despite my deep and endless love for education and English, I couldn’t shake the aforementioned quote.

So, this is my journey toward creating the “right words.” It is my adventure, my string of failures, my minuscule and colossal victories. I don’t quite fit anywhere in the world just yet.

I refuse to do anything less than what God has created me for. And, so, I’m chasing the horizon with nothing on my mind but reaching the hearts of the homeless, the uneducated, and the lost, and pursuing my love for writing and music.

Be different. Charge forward. Never settle. Dream bigger. Push through. Spread smiles. Give back.

  1. Great bio! When I was 22 during one afternoon, I left my corporate career and I spontaneously packed my car and started driving the country simply to hit every major city I could and meet the homeless who lived there. I spent some time in Chicago, Nashville, St. Louis, and many other cities large and small. Definitely one of the greatest times of change in my life.
